The undefeated giants of Gaza, Gath and Ashdod by Mike Bamiloye
Joshua 11:21-22 NKJV
[21]And at that time Joshua came and cut off the Anakim from the mountains: from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel; Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
[22] None of the Anakim were left in the land of the children of Israel; they remained only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod.
Joshua wiped out all the Anakims, the giants from all the mountains of Hebron, from Debir, from Anab and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel. He wiped them all out EXCEPT THE ANAKIMS (GIANTS) IN GAZA, GATH AND ASHDOD. Why didn’t he try to finish the assignment once and for all, to save the future generation from being embarrassed by the undefeated Giants.
The undefeated Giants in Gath, Gaza and Ashdod became tormentors to the future Generations of Israel and the blasphamers of the God of Israel. The Unfinished Projects of killing all the Giants, became a major project for the future Generation of Israel.
1 Samuel 17:4, 8, 10-11 NKJV
[4] And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
[8] Then he stood and cried out to the armies of Israel, and said to them, “Why have you come out to line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and you the servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me.
[10] And the Philistine said, “I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.”
[11] When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.
Goliath was one of the descendants of the undefeated Giants on Canaan Land. The future Generation of those who possessed the land of Canaan had to endure his intimidations and blasphamies for 40 days, as he still stood on the side of his people, the Philistines, the enemies of Israel.
Several years later on Canaan Land, the Giants stood against Israel on many occassion, in an attempt to oppose them or hinder them from possessing some other parts of the land the Lord had promised them.
2 Samuel 21:16-22 NKJV
[16] Then Ishbi-Benob, who was one of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose bronze spear was three hundred shekels, who was bearing a new sword, thought he could kill David.
[17] But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid, and struck the Philistine and killed him…..
[18] Now it happened afterward that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbechai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was one of the sons of the giant.
[19] Again there was war at Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed the brother of Goliath the Gittite,….
[20] Yet again there was war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number; and he also was born to the giant.
[21] So when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David’s brother, killed him.
[22] These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
THIS IS HOW UNDEFEATED GIANTS RISES UP LATER TO TROUBLE THE NEXT GENERATIONS.
When Isaac was old and he could no longer see with his eyes, he called Esau his first born and told him to go and prepare for him a savoury meat which he used to do and bring it to him for the last blessing before he died. Rebecah heard this and informed Jacob, her favorite son. Rebecah prepared a savoury meat and handed it over to Jacob to take to Isaac for the Blessing the father intended to give to Esau. His took the meat, deceived by the goat skin that covered his arms and neck, and the clothes of his brother he put on to produce his brother’s body odour for his father to smell. Isaac was absolutely deceived by the craftiness of Jacob and out of his deepest heart, he opened his mouth ad poured upon him all the blessings meant for his brother Esau.:
Genesis 27:26-27, 29 NKJV
[26] Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come near now and kiss me, my son.”
[27] And he came near and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his clothing, and blessed him and said: “Surely, the smell of my son Is like the smell of a field Which the LORD has blessed.
[29] Let peoples serve you, And nations bow down to you. Be master over your brethren, And let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, And blessed be those who bless you!”
Shortly after receiving the Blessing and he had packed the plates of the food from the stool before his father, Esau walked inside with his hot savoury meat for his father. And upon hearing that his brother had came in and craftily taken his place and received all the Blessing reserved for him, he burst into tears and wept bitterly.
Genesis 27:34-35 NKJV
[34] When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with an exceedingly great and bitter cry, and said to his father, “Bless me-me also, O my father!”
[35] But he said, “Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing.”
That spirit of deception and craftiness was an Anakim, a great Giant, in the life of Jacob. And the Giant kept showing up in his life to give him series of setbacks in life till the Giant manifested in his next generation. This spirit of Deception and Falsehood manifested as a terrible Giant that possessed his sons too.
Genesis 37:31-35 NKJV
[31] So they took Joseph’s tunic, killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the tunic in the blood.
[32] Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?”
[33] And he recognized it and said, “It is my son’s tunic. A wild beast has devoured him. Without doubt Joseph is torn to pieces.”
[34] Then Jacob tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his waist, and mourned for his son many days.
[35] And all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted, and he said, “For I shall go down into the grave to my son in mourning.” Thus his father wept for him.
THE SPIRIT OF DECEPTION AND FALSEHOOD APPEARED IN THE LIFE OF HIS SONS TOO. He was greviously deceived by the tunic of his son dipped in an animal blood, and he wept bitterly as his brother Esau also wept bitterly when he (Jabob) decieved his brother Esau several years back. He suffered for many years mourning the death of his living son.
When a man is full of lies and he refuses to deal with that spirit, though he is not a lustful or immoral person, the Spirit of Lies is the Giant he has not conquered, that may resurfaces in the lives of his children.
When a woman is so arrogant and proud, and she does not deal with the spirit of Pride and Arrogance, even though she is very prayerful and dedicated to the church and the things of the ministry, that spirit of Pride and Arrogance become a Giant in her life that may go ahead to reflect in the life of her children.
Therefore, it is not enough to take the land of your Callings and Ministry, without dealing with the stubborn characters and habits of your life that may become a Giant that would reflect upon your seeds later in life. Some drama and music ministers are doing well in their ministries presently; their ratings are rising before people; a lot of people are getting blessed through their various ministrations, music and movies, but, there is this Spirit of Greed and Covetuousness that a lot of people have been noticing in their lives, that must be dealt with now, or it passes over to begin to reflect upon their children and spiritual seeds.
Have you noticed that if a particular man of God is your mentor and father-in-the-Lord, and you submit yourself to him and stays under him as your father, sooner, his traces will begin to manifest in your life and habits. If he is a materialistic minister of God, sooner, you too will begin to do whatever he does. If he is a faith or Mission-minded person, it will soon begin to show up on you. THAT IS THE MANIFESTATIONS OF THE GIANTS OF YOUR FATHER.
As you go on fighting and taking the land of Great Exploits and mighty visions this year, kill all the Kings and spare not the Giants of the land. Deal with all sins and ungodly habits of our life so that they will not begin to gather to manifest in your biological and spiritual sons.
