A Gospel Movie Producer and Cleric, Reverend Ibukun Williams has released a statement yesterday that movies produced by Christians should be addressed as Gospel Films rather than Faith-Based Films.

In a chat with Gospel Film News, Williams noted that he’s not comfortable with the acronym ‘FAITH BASED FILMS’, saying it looks more like another invention of the secular movie industry to box gospel filmmakers into another bondage and he thinks it should not be accepted.

According to him, an IFA and OPELE and SANGO faith based film is Faith Based, an ISLAM/JIHAD believes propagation movie is Faith Based.

“Definitely my Jesus is not in the same category with all these sects and I as His ambassador do not want to be classified with them. If the world system decides to tag me with an evil name, it is left to me as the light of the world to agree with them or not. I think ‘Christian Gospel Movie’ is more appropriate with what we are doing and that should be stressed. We should be able to correct the world where they are making mistake,” he said.

Recall that Evang. Mike Bamiloye recently released a statement on behalf of the association that houses all Drama Ministers in Nigeria, All Nigeria Conference of Evangelical Drama Ministers, ANCEDRAM saying those who make gospel films should not be called Faith-Based Filmmakers.
