A Nigerian gospel filmmaker and president of Zionhome Drama Outreach Ministry, Femi Fakayode recently graduated from a UK university as a Masters Holder and has received several congratulatory messages. In this exclusive interview with Gospel Film News, Fakayode disclosed how he overcame hurdles, combined his academics and ministry with all family. Excerpt:

When did the program start?

It Started on 17th January 2022

What was your course of study?

A 2-year MBA (Strategic Project Management).

How did the whole scenario happen. Was it challenging?

I had desired to study a management course. I am privileged to lead in many capacities, and having a classroom knowledge on management and administration would place me on the right track, so I applied to study MBA (Strategic Project Management). It was very challenging, owing to the fact that I studied in an entirely new terrain. But I determined to put every challenge behind me, focusing on the goal, which is knowledge.

What can you say is the difference between schooling in Nigeria and UK?

Well, I will say structure. Everything has been pre-planned, ranging from the course modules, the time, the facilities of learning, and the possible challenges. Also, the program focused more on preparing us for the future ahead, rather than testing our memory.

How were you able to manage your ministry, family and the academics throughout these period?

My program started just few months after I got married, so it was a new home. It was also a new terrain for me, new method of learning. I also juggled the MBA program with another filmmaking course at the London Film Academy (LFA), leaving my base and traveling to London at a time my family needed me to be around. And for the ministry, the challenge came from steering a ministry based in Nigeria from another country. Combining all of these didn’t come easy though. Through the help of God, I was able to set priorities, delegate some roles, and plan ahead so that none of these would suffer. It was quite overwhelming at some point, but I thank God I was able to push through.

What’s your next line of action?

My next line of action is to influence the world with the knowledge I’ve gained. I believe that’s one thing I owe the world.

Word of advice to Gospel filmmakers?

My advice for gospel filmmakers is that we all seek for more knowledge. Let’s embrace every opportunity we can, to know more so we can do more for the gospel.
