EXCLUSIVE: Why people call me Apostle of short films- Oguntuase

John Oguntuase who has probably shot short films than any gospel film maker in Nigeria has finally disclosed why he is being tagged with the name, ‘Apostle of Short Films.’
In an exclusive interview with Gospel Film News recently, Oguntuase noted that it was Evangelist Mike Bamiloye that first call him ‘Apostle of Short Films’ before other colleagues in the drama and film industry begin to call him by the name.
He revealed that Mike Bamiloye first call him pathfinder of short films, some people call him apostle, some, bishop of short films and a lot of names thereafter.
The short film guru however told Gospel Film News that he believe and must confess that he is not the first person to make christian short film. ” I have seen few number and when I began I didn’t stop at one, two, three to ten so, it was much and people started calling me names and then I was passionate about it.”
“If I go to locations then they will say John has come oo, he will shoot short film here, at that time maybe God used me to make it popular and make it known. When we began some people will say the film is not complete now, we did not understand it add more, but now people have known and it has spread. I was invited to ANCEDRAM national and other places outside the country, outside the state, outside Lagos, North, East, and so on,” he added.
Oguntuase who has done more than 50 short films said God has use him to do more and to spread it more because he does a lot of spreading.
