A US-based film production ministry, For God’s Glory Productions, has released its first movie, ‘How Did I Get Here?’

The movie was released Saturday April 1st, 2023 on YouTube.

The movie director, Gloria Rogers Idumah disclosed to Gospel Film News in an exclusive interview that the movie was inspired while she was having her quiet time, noting that she was inspired to write a story about an Evangelist who goes to witness to a lady, and the lady confesses her sins, questioning whether God will forgive her.

“Later that day, as I was driving, the Holy Spirit began to reveal the deeper meaning of the movie to me. It was as if I could see the pain that the lady experienced from the condemnation and rejection, she faced from Christians due to her lifestyle. The Spirit of God continued to give me ideas about the movie, and I found myself weeping uncontrollably in the car. It felt as though I could feel the lady’s pain. Since I was alone on a two-hour drive, I had the opportunity to cry and pray as much as I needed to.” Rogers added.

According to the director and writer, the movie centers around a lady who was raised in a Christian household but lost her faith and stopped attending church after the death of her parents.

‘How did I get here’ is a short movie of 20 minutes, shot in July 2022.

“The original version of the movie was intended to be a little longer than 20 minutes, but we decided to cut some scenes in order to make it a shorter film. However, if circumstances permit, we plan on filming a longer version of the movie with better equipment. During the initial shoot, one of the actors and I contracted Covid-19. At one point, I even considered swapping roles with someone else. To ensure the story remained consistent, we removed some scenes where I was coughing.

“To add to the challenges, during the shooting of the final scene, it began to rain heavily, and we ended up shooting for hours in the rain. At one point, one of the phones we were using to shoot the movie went off, and the photographer had to use his personal phone as a light while holding the other phone to record the video. Despite the difficulties, the experience was wonderful and taught me to appreciate filmmakers even more,” Rogues reiterated.

she stressed that “this project, which I like to call ‘Our Little Beginning’, would not have been possible without the help of the Holy Spirit and the dedicated crew members. We are grateful to God for guiding us through this project and to the crew for their sacrifice and tolerance of having me on set when I was unwell.”

The movie was spiced up with anointed-professional actors like Gloria Rogers Idumah who played Mercedes, Kojo Bobbie-Ansah who played Lil J, Emmanuel Oluwasayomi Ahmadu who acted Paul, Chiamaka Amaechi who acted Neighbor, Elizabeth Aniakwa as Jessica, and Esther Otu as Jessica‘a Friend.

It was Directed by Gloria Rogers Idumah, Produced by For God’s Glory, Edited by Oladipo O’Fresh, Photographer; Chiamaka Amaechi, Kojo Bobbie-Ansah and Makeup by Elizabeth Aniakwa, Publicity Officer and continuity Emmanuel Oluwasayomi Ahmadu.

For God’s Glory Production is a ministry that produces drama and gospel films. Although the idea had been in the works for years, the ministry officially started last year after overcoming challenges such as procrastination, lack of funds, and equipment.
