Popular Nigeria gospel actor and politician, Evangelist Kolade Segun-Okeowo, KSO is blowing hot on people saying a Christian cannot survive in the political scene in Nigeria.

This is coming after a Nigeria pastor said No Christian leader can play politics and remian clean, saying Nigerian politics is really complicated. There have also been serious controversies on Christians in politics recently.

In an exclusive interview with Gospel Film News, KSO who has been in politics for close to 15 years stated that: “You don’t need to be in Politics to backslide or become unrighteous, the pulpit is big enough for backsliding.”

The Evangelist who frowns at such statement noted that the best place for light to shine is in the darkness, saying a Christian who could not survive in the “market place” won’t actually survive on the “altar.”

Segun-Okeowo who’s one of the faces that defines gospel films disclosed that In his close to 15 year sojourn in Politics he has met deeply rooted Christians in Politics doing exploits and remaining incorruptible, yet, also met some Pastors who are deeply corrupt and completely a disgrace to the Body of Christ.

  1. I strongly agree with KSO. The best place for light to shine is in the midst of darkness. We are enjoined by our Lord Jesus Christ to shine our light in the midst of the darkness of this world.

  2. I agree with KSO. Christians are short-changing themselves by staying away from politics. After God, it’s the Government. There should be no vacuum. Anywhere we are we should let our light so shine before men including being politics. Christians should stop complaining about bad governance when they refuse to partake in the political process. You can contest elections or being appointed. Whether the laws are made by crooks or idiots we are to obey them. So believers wake up and join political parties of your choice and vie for positions. The children of the world are wise in their generation than the children of light so says our Lord. He also commands us to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. Wake up Christians and stop complaining. There are Pastors in hell too. Politics is not a ticket to hell neither is not joining is a ticket to heaven. It’s the fear of God rooted in repentance, salvation and holiness that qualify a person to make heaven. Let’s change our mindset and mentality towards politics. Proverbs 29:2 is apt.
