Just last week the well celebrated film makers, Evangelists Kolade and Sunmbo Segun-Okeowo were seen dressed in full Hausa attire despite they are from the Yoruba tribe.

Kolade Segun-Okeowo was seen dressed in full Mallam attire with a Fulani stick, while Sunmbo Segun-Okeowo was fully kitted in ‘Yarinyan’ attire with top notch make up that best describe the Hausa/Fulani tribe.

In an exclusive interview with Gospel Film News, Sunmbo disclosed that the dressing was to commemorate the cultural day held in her school, Goldmind schools, Simawa, Ogun State.

She added that as a Nigerian anytime there is cultural day in the school herself and the husband just choose to dress in a way, saying last year was a Yoruba, upper year was Igbo attire, and then this year they decided to go for Hausa.

The film producer explained that in actual fact, what they are trying to teach people is that Nigeria can be one.

“We want to portray that we are all one and except we want to be together as one we can’t move Nigeria forward. So, we should know that no matter which tribe any of the children are coming from, they must know that we are one, and that’s just the significance of the dress,” she stated.
