Why I dedicated my award to Otunba Gbenga Daniel -KSO

The ace gospel film maker and politician, Evangelist Kolade Segun-Okeowo, KSO has explained in detail why he dedicated his recent award to the former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, OGD.
Segun-Okeowo while speaking with Gospel Film News in an interview disclosed that in the course of his political career and leadership he had learnt a lot from the former governor.
“One of the things I have learnt from this man is forgiveness. I’m amazed the way Otunba Gbenga Daniel forgivess enemies, people who have castigated him, people who have said terrible things about him. He will just smile off and embrace them,” he said.
The film maker continued: “Recently there was a case of a political gladiator in Ogun state who had castigated him(OGD), said a lot of dirty things about him and so on, only recently they started hobnobbing together again and people said ‘what! We never expected you to ever come close to this man’ and OGD will say ‘how many years are we spending on earth that we have to go round with coat of armour’ so, I’ve learnt forgiveness from him.”
KSO further told Gospel Film News that he also learnt empowerment from him.
“I’ve learnt empowerment from him. Empowering young people, giving young people opportunity. When he was governor, it’s on record that he had given opprtunity to more young people than any other governor in the history of the state. So I draw from him the passion to raise up other people,” KSO stated.
The veteran movie maker reiterated that another thing he love about OGD is his ability to contain contrary opinion, saying he has seen leaders both spiritual and non-spiritual that no one dear criticise them but OGD is different.
“OGD will call us to meeting and he will give us opportunity to say our minds, say whatever you want to say and he is not a kind of person that will shout you down even when you don’t say the right thing. He gives room for you to express your mind and he encourages you,” KSO stressed.
“So, these are some of the reasons that endeared me him to me. People have said a lot of things about him, of course, I know that no human being is perfect even men of God are not perfect. Why are they not, because they are men of God, we call them ‘man of God they are not ‘God of man’.”
Segun-Okeowo concluded that though OGD may have his shortcomings just as he also has his own but by and large, he has learnt a lot in terms of leadership from him(OGD), reaffirming that that’s why he was so happy and find it very convenient to dedicate the award to him.
Recall KSO had received an award of outstanding leadership in South West, Nigeria last week where he dedicated the award to Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
