Take the land… And kill the kings by Mike Bamiloye
In 1 Kings 20, Ahab, the King of Israel committed a serious blunder during the war between Israel and Syria. Ben-hadad, the King of Syria had besieged the City of Samaria with thirty-two kings and an army so innumerable that filled the whole space of the battle ground. King Ahab had gone to that war with just seven thousands soldiers, just about the 5% of the Warriors of King BEN-Hadad of Syria. He had boasted that his army would lick up the sand of the land of Samaria. He had boasted that he would walk in and out of Samaria city and took whatever he wanted unobstructed.
But the Lord God of Israel had promised King Ahab of Israel that He would deliver the army of Syria into his hand and give him victory.
1 Kings 20:20-21
[20] And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Ben-hadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.”
[21] And the king of Israel went out, and smote the horses and chariots, and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter.
King Ben-hadad was miraculously defeated, but he escaped from the battle-ground with his life. Then, he sent emissaries to King Ahab to go and help him plead with him to spare his life.
1 Kings 20:32
[32] So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.

So King Ben-Hadad came to him from is hiding place and promised to restore all the land that he had taken from King Ahab. So, King Ahab gave him a hand of fellowship and brought him into his chariot, and they rode in his chariot together as brothers. So after BEN-hadad had been released to go away alive, a prophet from God came to Ahab and delivered God’s message to him:
1 Kings 20:42 KJV
“And he said unto him, Thus saith the Lord , Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.”
That was his grievous mistake. When you take the land in victory, you must kill the king of the land. The Lord God was furious at Ahab and declared that he would die the death apportioned to King. Ben-hadad of Syria.
In 1. Samuel 15, another king that committed similar mistake was King Saul who was commanded to go and attack the Amalekites and destroy them utterly. But he spared the king of Amalekites, for that reason, the Lord rejected him as king and looked out for an alternative and got one in David. King Agag of Amalek was hacked into pieces right there in the Lord’s presence..
1 Samuel 15:23,33 KJV
[23]….Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord , he hath also rejected thee from being king.
[33]….. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.
What is the relevance of these references to us and our lives? It was part of the instructions to kill the Kings when the land is taken. So, when we fought all those wars and took all those lands, it was a matter of serious importance that the Kings of the lands were utterly destroyed without sparing any of them.
Joshua 11:17-18 KJV
[17] Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
[18] Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
I discovered that it was not enough to take the land without killing the Kings of the land. The victory in Canaan Land would never have been conclusive if only the lands were taken and the Kings were spared. That was why Joshua ordered that the Kings of the cities of the Amorites be caged in a cave till the battle was over and they came back to killed them and hung them on trees till evening.
Joshua 10:28 KJV
[28] And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, ….and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
The great victory of King Ahab of Israel would have been so beautiful if he had completed it with the killing of King Ben-hadad of Syria, whom the Lord brought in this presence to kill. And God was angry. Where King Saul and King Ahab failed, Joshua passed the tests. He let none of the Kings of the land he took lived. The took the land…and killed the Kings.
Joshua 12:1,24 KJV
[1] Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east:
[24]…..all the kings thirty and one.
NOW WHAT IS THE KING TO ME? AND WHO ARE THESE KINGS TO YOU?
It is not enough to to take over the land of your possessions, for instance, in the entertainment ministry or christian Drama and movie production without dealing with the Kings that rule the land of entertainment, in Music, Arts, Drama and Movie: PRIDE and IMMORALITY. Have you taken note that the principal spirits that troubles the entertainment world today, all over the world is PRIDE OF LIFE and IMMORAL LIVING? No wonder most singers and movie artistes do not have settled home. It is now a thing of pride to them to have babies from different women. And they call them Baby-Mama. Even the girls now take pride in sleeping with the movie and music stars and fulfilling their dreams by getting pregnant and having babies for them as their BABY-MAMA. It is the King that rule the Movie and Music World: PRIDE AND IMMORAL LIVING.
A child of God can not be a successful drama and music minister without looking for these Kings and dealing with them utterly.
IF YOU TAKE THE LAND OF MUSIC AND MOVIES AND MAKE MANY MOVIES AND RELEASE MANY ALBUMS WITHOUT KILLING THE KINGS OF PRIDE AND IMMORAL LIVING, THE KINGS WILL FIND WAYS TO TAKE THE LAND BACK FROM YOU.
Many times I see the Entertainment Channel and watch how these movie stars do all they could do to parade themselves before several photographic cameras, wearing terrible indecent dresses on red-carpet, I see the King of the Land in absolute Manifestations over their life. It was the King of the Land of Movies and Music that brought a lot of indecent dressing into our world. It is the King of Immorality ruling the Entertainment industry that introduced Sagging, Tattoos, Skimpy Fashions, Nose and body piercing, excessive make-ups, etc. It was in the Movies I first saw that the name of “JESUS” was indecently turned to “JEEZ!” And the word “OH! MY GOD!” Was turned to “Oh! My Gush!” The movie world celebrated and popularized Immorality and nudity. Our Youths take directions and inspirations from psychologically confused Music and Movie stars who are ruled by the Kings of Pride and Immorality.
IN DRAMA MINISTRY, YOU MUST KILL THE KINGS OF PRIDE AND IMMORALITY BEFORE YOU CAN POSSESS THE LAND.
Humility is the key. Meekness and Gentleness of heart. Loving and Approachable spirit. YOU MUST KILL THE SPIRIT OF PRIDE. He is a King who rules the Movie and Music world.
Some drama ministers have turned themselves to Stars after acting successfully in about three or four movies. And some Music ministers have turned themselves to Idols after releasing about two or three albums that has become the toast of the church. They begin to place ridiculous demands on those who would invite them to come and bless lives and souls.
Some Ministers’ live is full of PRIDE. Their words and messages are loaded with Pride. And some Ministers of God are yet to kill the Spirit of Covetousness in their ministry. Every air they breath is drenched with Greed and Love of Money and Materialism. IT IS THE KING YOU DID NOT KILL THAT WILL COME BACK TO TAKE THE LAND FROM YOU.
A drama ministers, after futuring in a highly successful christian TV series that became well known and highly celebrated, began to place terrible demands on whoever wanted him to feature in his or her movies. He was asking for producers to send cars to come and convey him to film locations. He was asking for preferential treatment on sets. When drama ministers on location denied themselves and sleeps wherever provided, he would not want to sleep with four or five people in a room. He wanted his own room as the Lead Role of the movie. Later, he had problems in his marital life and began moving with another woman. THE KINGS HAVE TAKEN THE LAND BACK FROM HIM.
DEAL WITH PRIDE IN YOUR PASTORAL MINISTRY.
DEAL WITH LOVE OF MONEY.
DEAL WITH LUST AND IMMORALITY.
DON’T TAKE THE LAND AND SPARE THE KINGS…KILL THE KINGS.
DEAL WITH ARROGANCE AND VAIN-GLORY IN YOUR MINISTERIAL LIFE.
DEAL WITH ANGER IN YOUR MINISTRY…That may be the King ruling the small city you have just possessed.
KILL THE KING BEFORE THE KING COME BACK TO TAKE THE LAND FROM YOU.
IT IS THE KINGS YOU SPARED WITHOUT KILLING THAT WILL COME BACK TO TAKE THE LAND FROM YOU.
