Reading the bible to preach to others is a spiritual stupidity- Shola Mike Agboola

Respected film maker and president of EVOM World Network, Evangelist Shola Mike Agboola yesterday slammed ministers of God who read the bible just to preach to others.

Agboola made this known yesterday while addressing drama ministers and gospel film makers in Lagos.  Agboola who was ministering on the topic “Approved Minister” stated that to be approved means to give formal confirmation that something is satisfactory.

Gospel Film News correspondent who was live at the scene reports that the drama evangelist who mentioned DNA of an approved minister disclosed that it includes a man who stands before God before standing before men, a man after God’s hearth will feel what God feels, a man whom God commends, a man who is tested, a man who will be heard.

“Before whom are you standing, before men or before God. Boast less of yesterday’s victory. Is your standing with God still relevant? When you find a man who stands before God, his word is an authority. An approved minister is one who tarry in the place of fasting, prayer and studying the word of God. Reading the bible to preach to others is a spiritual stupidity,” he stated.

While speaking from the bible in 1st Samuel 16:1-13, he revealed that when Samuel was looking from the front of the queue, God was already at the back of the queue looking elsewhere for His approved, adding that while people are looking at the present, God is already in the future, saying that you are passing by God doesn’t mean you have passed his exams.

The veteran film maker who was ministering at the 15^th state congress of All Nigeria Conference of Evangelical Drama Ministers, Lagos chapter also enumerated four tests for an approved minister as Identity test, Bread test, Show off Test and Compromise Test

“The suit you are wearing doesn’t make you suitable for God’s work. If you are not tested, you cannot be trusted. Divine approval is not for designation; it is for manifestation. Satan told Jesus, if thou be a son of God. There are points in life when you begin to get confused of who you really are and questions like ‘if you are a man of God why are you still struggling in ministry’ begin to arise. The only house you build from up to down is the grave. Every other house is built from down to up, meaning every minister will go to their wilderness experience,” he reiterated.

He continued: “If your definition of an approved minister is your material possession then you are not passing the bread test. You get to a point when you don’t need to pray for bread, bread comes. Don’t kill yourself for ministerial bread. When you are in the ministry for honorarium, you meet dishonor. When you are in the ministry to meet ends meet, you meet your end. When you are in the ministry to please God, God will please you. Let this be your watchword: man shall not live by bread alone. Ministry is not for show off but show down with the devil.”
