PHOTO NEWS: Gospel Film News Holds Media Retreat, Trains Staff

The illiterate of the 21st century, according to ‘Toffler’ will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn. This describes why Gospel Film News trains its team members at a retreat.

At the 24 hours retreat, participants learnt, unlearned and relearned for quality and effective productive in service delivery.

The retreat which was held in Lagos from Friday 3rd to Saturday 4th of June, 2022 was loaded with training on different aspects of media and journalism.

One of the speakers who is the publisher of CAC News and Gospel News Reporters, ‘Gbenga Bankole who taught on ‘Sourcing For News Both Physical and Online’ breakdown in details various ways to get news items and how to write same. Bankole while delivery his speech said he coming as a speaker at the retreat is a great privileged he never took for granted. He however encouraged every team member of Gospel Film News never to relent in their duties irrespective of the challenges.

Speaking on the vision of Gospel Film News, the publisher, Mr. Oluwafemi Dosu noted that the core vision is to promote gospel films, drama and activities of gospel filmmakers in Nigeria and abroad. He added that God never told him to include music, church or any other news and that is why for the past 4 years Gospel Film News has remained focus on the drama and film industry.

Dosu added that Gospel Film News is taking a new shape, entering a higher dimension of operation this season. He stressed that Gospel Film News is a ministry and at the same time an organization, noting that GFN has employed an admin officer and solidify the employment of other staff members.

Other speakers at the retreat include Moses Adio, Damilare Daniel and Dare Fayemi.
