Movies are a form of storytelling that involves action and mostly mirrors the things that go on in society for learning and entertainment. Some actors have been very dedicated when playing their roles that it is so believable and viewers cannot separate the make-belief from reality. Back in the days, a lot of Nigerian kids grew up watching Mount Zion movies which were used as a means of preaching and learning.

Just recently, a lady took to Twitter and shared the photo of a popular Mount Zion actor, Hassan Doyin, and said that she was so scared of him as a child.

Interestingly, other tweeps agreed with her as they recounted how Hassan acted as a spirit husband in a Mount Zion movie.

Well, Hassan has now taken to social media to react to this fear a lot of Nigerians seem to have for him over the movie he acted in the past. The actor apologised for the role he played in the popular movie as he explained that it was only acting. He also said that he acted a handful of gospel movies but that people did not seem to forget the negative one. He wrote: “God is faithful. For those who are scared of my role in Captives of the Mighty (Iguana 2000) I apologize. It was my innocent way of interpreting the role. Its all acting. I thank God for the Holy Spirit that i am alive, hale and hearty on my feet. It was such overwhelming comments that made Christopher Lee hang himself. He felt bad that people hated him for the role he played in a horror movie. I’ve acted in a handful of gospel messages, but people don’t forget the negative roles. I played Natas in the Heretic in 1985/86. No Cassette, No VCD then. See how one’s past can impact on future generations? It was just acting….but the comments really scared me! Thanks.”
