Manchester’s Christian soulful folk singer-songwriter and one of the Melita movie actors, Emma Mould is to release her latest single entitled ‘Ese Africa,’ Gospel Film News learnt.

This is contained in a Statement personally signed by Emma Mould and obtained by Gospel Film News.

This latest single turns yet another corner in the Songstresses eclectic musical journey with a smooth Afro beat vibe. Capturing the song’s story and inspiration is a lyric video with the footage shot by Nigerian Cinematographer, ‘Asiwaju Ben Ope Johnson’ who Emma worked with on the set of a Nigerian-British gospel film, Melita.

‘Ese Africa’ means thank-you Africa.

Speaking about her latest single release Mould noted that: “I wrote this song on my guitar in a hotel in Ibadan Nigeria. I think you can tell when you listen to the song that my spirit felt so free, Africa was so good for my soul. I had such an unexpected experience in Africa whilst traveling with my good friend, Rebecca Aladiran. I ended up playing the small role of a Scottish martyr in a Christian Nollywood film – set in the 1800’s. The scenes, story and the script took me back to what so many had experienced, both the Africans and the Early missionaries.”

According to her, she felt revived and creatively inspired having been exposed to African Culture and so many beautiful people at a pivotal time in her life.

She further stressed that For her it was such a gift to walk out of covid 19 and to step into Africa blowing the remnants of lockdown off of her.

Often compared to the likes of Adele and Tracey Chapman, Emma Mould has been singing professionally since 2015 and has never looked back. She has since played at various venues across the city and has contributed to BBC Radio.
‘Ese Africa’’ will be available to download and stream on all major outlets including Spotify, Itunes, Google Play and others.
