“How to choose the right marriage partner” (Part 1) by Gloria Bamiloye

Everything in life is by choice for God did not make man a robot ,he gave man the ability and power to choose even though God has power to force his will on man ,But He will not do so. He created Man in his image with the ability to decide on his own .God has. beautiful plan for everyone he created ,he says in Jeremiah 29:11 KJVFor I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.God will not force anyone to accept his plan ,he always desire that man will seek Him to know his plan and to accept it .God knew you before you were born or before you were formed in your mothers womb.He has the plan of your life with him and his plan for all His children is good .Jeremiah 1:5 KJVS[5] Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. That is the mind of God for every one who desire to choose his / her marriage partner according to the will of GodCan God choose for His children ?This is always a controversial question . God can choose for his children because there is nothing God cannot do , but he will not force his will on them . God can lead his child to the right man or woman ,he can even show you the person to marry ,but he will not force the person on you ,he will leave you to make your choice . Psalm 32:8 KJV[8] I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eyes. For example ,Jesus Christ came to die for everyone .He made salvation available for everyone, but he did not force it on anyone ,man still need to choose. . Man still have power to accept or reject the savior .Deuteronomy 30:14-15. But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. [15] See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.

MAN STILL NEEDS TO CHOOSE EITHER TO ACCEPT OR REJECT THE SALVATION
John 3:16 KJVS[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It is the same with the choice of partner. It is clear from the scripture that God can direct his children to their right marriage partner if they involve Him .but it is their responsibility to chose to obey God’s leading or go against it . There are some doctrines and teachings that contradict the word of God on this. Some said God has nothing to do with whoever you marry because he has given you eyes and brain to pick the right person for your life. But ,Proverbs 3:5-6 KJVS. says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. This scripture is not talking about marriage alone .As a child of God ,you are expected to trust God and ask for HIs counsel on everything . Your job or carrier, ,where you plan to settle with your family,. who to marry ,etc .when you involve and acknowledge God in your decision making ,it will save you of stress and make your journey in life peaceful because you will not grope in darkness
The scripture is not forcing but advising and encouraging you to involve God in all the step you take in life including marriage so you can be fulfilled. and enjoy your life instead of managing and struggling all your life. Therefore God still lead ,direct and chose the right marriage partner for his children if He is involved .

    1. Will a person love the wrapper wrapped around a gift and take the wrapper and leave the gift? Is God that wicked to give you someone He hasn’t placed his love in your heart? God is love and the source of all love. He will give you love for that person in His will for you. What is important to consider is that is this person God’s will for me? Love or romantic love is not the basis of judging God’s will for you but the peace beyond understanding guarding your heart and mind and assurance from His word and promise of His grace in your marriage that must be the basis of your love for him. When you seek God’s will, kingdom first, He adds other things like love to it Matt 6:33. Your love for the person if it will last must have its source in the fruit of the Holy Spirit he is bearing and seeking to conform to the image of Christ.
