A gospel movie titled ‘GODAVARI’ has spread its tentacles across the nation as the film is available for sale in major video outlet.

‘Godavari’ was produced and directed by Mayowa Stephen and co-produced by Olaitan Mayowa-Stephen.

In an exclusive interview with the publisher of Gospel Film News, Oluwafemi Dosu, Mayowa Stephen noted that the movie is centered around Mike, a very devoted Christian young man, who became entangled in a dual love affair with Grace and Gloria, consciously and unconsciously respectively. One of the girls is good at Warfare, the other is a specialist in Welfare. They both long to have him, but before long, he finds out that it is ‘More Than Caring’.

‘Godavari’ according to the producer means ‘more than caring’.

Stephen stated that “the message we intend to pass with GODAVARI is that of the popular saying, ‘look before you leap’. The movie teaches youths to be very vigilant, sensitive and spiritually discerning, especially as it relates to love relationship.”

The producer told Gospel Film News that the movie was produced in a time like this because there are mixed multitude in the church, and the devil is out to bring committed Christians to disrepute and destroy their salvation, saying the movie is timely.

“At a time like this when youths are mingling and fumbling with relationship on a daily basis, this movie is on point,” he added.

Godavari was however shot in August 2015 but released in December, 2017.

The movie is available to the beck and call of the general public. He disclosed that People can get a copy of the movie at any video shop near them especially at the following places:

Stephen who also spoke on Gospel films in general said “well gospel Movies are gradually improving now technically. We are also seeing quality acting  and actors within the gospel Movie circle but we still have a long way to go. The number of Drama Ministers we have compared to the outstanding actors who truly interprete roles in our circle is still a very far journey for us but we are getting there and very soon too.”

Meanwhile, he noted that Nigeria film industry is also growing very fast adding that there has been a lot of cinematic movies that have hit the screen and more people are now going to Cinema houses. “That is an achievement for the Nollywood,” he reinstated.
