Filmmaker, Iyanu Jeremiah Faith Calls For Better Musical Coordination In Movie Production

By Moboluwape Olasunkanmi

Concerns over poor musical coordination in movie productions have once again come to the fore as upcoming filmmaker, Iyanu Jeremiah Faith calls on producers and editors to pay closer attention to sound quality in singing scenes.

In a Statement obtained by Gospel Film News, the filmmaker expressed dissatisfaction with the way some editors handle musical scenes, especially when actors are required to sing. He pointed out that in several productions, background music is added in a different key from the one the actor is singing, creating a noticeable clash that affects the overall viewing experience.

According to him, such inconsistencies can make a powerful scene lose its emotional impact. He stressed that musical alignment is not a minor detail but a crucial element in delivering a professional and seamless production.

Iyanu Jeremiah Faith also advised continuity managers to develop at least a basic understanding of music. He explained that this would help ensure that actors maintain the same key across multiple shots in a singing scene, except when modulation is intentionally planned as part of the creative direction. www.gospelfilmnews.com

He noted that better collaboration between actors, continuity managers, editors, and the sound score team would significantly improve the final output of films.

The filmmaker concluded by encouraging industry stakeholders to raise the standard of production, expressing optimism that greater attention to technical details will enhance the quality of audio-visual storytelling in the industry.
