Femi Adebile Honours Filmmakers at Maiden Edition of Fejosbaba Viewers’ Choice Award

Evangelist Femi Adebile has celebrated and honoured  outstanding gospel filmmakers at the maiden edition of Fejosbaba Viewers Choice Award.

Gospel Film News reports that the award which took place in Ondo City scooped drama icons from all over the world including Idowu Oluwaferanmi, Adeoye Omoniyi, Moses Korede Are, Afolabi Dipeolu, Opeyemi Akintunde, Deborah Adeola, Florence Afolabi, Tolu Adegbo, Kayode Babalola, and Olaitan Faranpojo who were equally honoured.

In his speech the convener, Femi Adebile appreciates everyone’s present. He disclosed that he’s been nursing the Fejosbaba Viewers Choice Award in my heart for the past 5 years but never knew it will be as big as this.

He also appreciates people for counseling over the years. Fejosbaba Training Workshop, FTW system, Mr. Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba) & his wife, Olaife. He further appreciates his wife, Rebecca Femi-Adebile whom he described as a woman king.

“God has so much helped me. If not for God, enemies would have fought me hand down and I would have been vanished. I obtained mercy from God,” he added.

He stressed that the purpose of the Fejosbaba Viewers Choice Award is to celebrate wonderful drama Ministers who have worked for years. “We need award to celebrate people. Award is not carnality. In every niche there’s a symbol that you have done a good work. This program is a seed into a bigger picture. This is first of it’s kind,” he reiterated.

The chairman of the occasion, Dr. Ayo Ajewole AKA Woli Agba in his remark congratulates all the awardee and the convener, Femi Adebile. “I love and respect him so much. I got attracted to his acting. I’m in support of the vision. Thank you for encouraging the body of Christ,” he stated.

Highlight of the program also has a panel discussion with Adeoye Omoniyi, Kayode Babalola, Opeyemi Akintunde, Florence Afolabi, Abiola Babtola Nattytunes, Tolu Adegbo, Deborah Adeola as panellist
Secular movie is driven by ability, interest in drama and for sustenance.
Dr. Adeoye Omoniyi noted that: “Gospel or secular movie is not type of the movie we have. Gospel is doing it for calling. We are called to act. Our driving force is not our ability, money, fame or fans but ministry oriented. To achieve what we are doing it also requires money.”

Florence Afolabi noted that: “It’s not a gainsay that drama is a very strong tool to enrich the kingdom of God. Very easy to win souls. 50 years back, drama is not really acceptable in church because they believe there’s no basis for it in the bible. Today, drama has gotten a very good place in the society. We have number of drama school nowadays unlike before. Many are being encouraged now.”

Daramola Kayode Babalola AKA Kaybabs stated that the challenges in secular and gospel in cinema are same. “Taste of the audience, Purchasing power of the audience, marketing effort, interest of the Cinema. You can’t make a film without being aggressive in forcing it down people’s throat. Marketing and publicity is very important,” he added.

Opeyemi Akintunde noted that: “I’m so excited. The truth is there are millions of creative people out there looking for opportunity to express their God-given talent. What God is looking for is capable men and women he can put people under them. Make yourself capable, be trustworthy, building your brand.”

At the event awards were given to outstanding actors in some PREM movies. Performance was also made by M20dot, Baba Akile amongst others.
