Falling in love with Delilah of Sorek by Mike Bamiloye
Judges 16:4-6 KJV
[4] And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
[5] And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth , and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver. [6] And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth , and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
Right from the Foundation of Samson, he had been falling in love with a wrong woman. The first woman he would ever fell in love with was the Philistine lady in the vineyard of Timnath, who was being guided, so to speak, by a young lion. (Judges 14) The marriage ended up in crisis and collapsed. Then, we read that he had affairs with the Harlot of Gaza. The last major crisis was the affair he had with Delilah of the Valley of Sorek.
Delilah represents several woman who married the Lord’s anointed to betray and sell them into the hand of their enemies. Samson loved Delilah, but Delilah wanted Samson only to sell him out to the lords of the Philistines. She handed up Samson into the hands of the lord’s of Philistines for 1,100 pieces of Silver from each of the five or six lords. She sold Samson into the hands of the enemies.
The Lords of the Philistines had approached Delilah to help them put an end to Samson’s ministerial and mission’s exploits. They had approached her to ENTICE HIM and locate his area of strength, so as to PREVAIL AGAINST HIM, BIND HIM. AND AFFLICT HIM. Because Delilah was a Daughter of the Philistines, she readily obeyed the voice and the plea of her masters.
When Satan would afflict Adam and distort the plan of God of his life, he approached Eve and indirectly sent her to Adam. The Strength of Adam collapsed under the love of Eve. When the Devil would attack the promise of God for Abraham, he went and suggested into the heart of Sarah to speak to ABRAHAM to go and try her maid, maybe she would have a child for him. Abraham did not refuse that counsel of Sarah. He did not put up a defense against the advise of Serah. Abraham fell under the love of Sarah and listen to her ill advise without questioning.
Was it not Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab that advised her husband King Ahab to plot the taking-over of the Naboth’s vineyard?
1 Kings 21:25 KJV
But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord , whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
The Bible did say that “Ahab did sold himself to do evil” It was Jezebel who sold him. Jezebel did greatly influenced Ahab to do wickedness.
So all through the Bible we saw where women had sold their husbands into the hand of the Devil for torments and affliction. Every wife would know where the strength of her husband lies, and by whatever means he can be enticed, bound and afflicted. But every Godly woman would cover up the weakness of her husband and protect her husband from being Prevailed against, from being bound or afflicted. Every wise woman builds her house with all her wisdom, power and might….
Proverbs 14:1 KJV
[1] Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
All over the place today, we find many women who are selling their husbands into the hands of the Philistines for some pieces of satisfaction and self-desires. All over the place, we find women and ladies in the church of God, and many homes who are helping the devil to prevail against, to bind and afflict their own husbands. Instead of protecting their husbands, they are exposing their husbands to the enemies’ assaults. Like Delilah, they release their husbands into the hands of the enemies by their own personal making.
There are a lot of women who have no time to take care of their husbands because of their careers and ambitions. They have sold their husbands into the hands of their house maids and strange women in offices. There are wives whose jobs and professions have taken them away from their homes and husbands for two, three, four and five months; even some wives are away from their husbands for close to one or two years…for whatever reasons…They have sold their husbands into the hands of emotional tortures and immoral battles of the minds. Some husbands are sold into the hands of Internet Pornography…while some are sold outrightly into the hands of strange sisters and ladies.
Some women have pushed their husbands by incessant naggings, to look for money by whatever means…even by ignoble business deals, because their wives also wanted to look nice like their friends. Some pastors and ministers’ wives have nagged and influenced their husband ministers and pastors to put their hands into the money of the church just to satisfy their hungry desire to look flamboyant like others. So they sold their husbands into the hand of the Philistines lords of Greed and Covetousness.
What negative influence are you having on your husband as a wife? What have you pushed your husbands to do that is against the will of God?
The moment the enemies got hold of Samson, they plucked out his eyes – THAT IS REMOVING THE VISIONS OF THE MAN, then they took him into their dungeon to be grinding grains for them, Thus, the Once-Ago “Samson the Powerful Anointed man of Israel” had suddenly become “Samson, the Visionless, blind, degraded slave who grinds the grains in the enemy’s Prison”, all-arranged by Delilah, the woman he loved.
Any man who falls in love with the Daughter of the Devil would eventually lose his Vision and become the enemy’s slave in his cell. It is normal for a young man to fall in love, seek the mind of God and seek His face to be sure you are falling in love “A Daughter of Zion” whose Father is Lord God of Israel”, not “a daughter of the Philistine, whose father is the Devil ” who is out to steal, to kill and destroy.
And there are a lot of such loves around us today. There are a lot of such ladies like Delilah everywhere around us today, in churches, ministries, christian gatherings and conferences, and in offices and places of works, whose main aim would be to kill your God-given Visions and divert your ways from divine destinations in life and ministry. DON’T EVER FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM.
