DRAMA MINISTERS YEAR OF “OVERFLOWING EXPANSIONS”
“LIVING TO SAVE LIVES”
GENESIS 45:5-8
5 But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.
6 For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.
7 And God sent me before you to preserve a [g]posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
8 So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Even though his brothers sold him as slave to Egypt, it was God who used his brothers to send him forth into the land whee he would fulfill destiny. So he told his brothers never to fight against themselves or blame anyone in particular for selling him as a slave that particular afternoon or morning?
And he said they should look at the bigger picture and the benefits of what the Lord used them to do had brought to their family and the entire large humanity. He said the Lord had sent him forth ahead to preserve multitudes of lives and from dying of hunger and also the Lord had sent him forth to preserve a posterity for the household of Jacob, because the Famine was very devastating and still had 5 more years to ravage the entire land.
The summary of the entire meeting that afternoon in the mansion of Joseph was what he said to his brothers:
“So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He
has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house,
and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt”.(Gen. 45:8)
What is the heart-touching lesson here:?
Every experience the Lord is making you to pass through as a child of God, is an investment from God to prepare you to save multitudes of lives. Joseph’s life in Portiphar’s house and his years of prison terms in the dungeon of Pharoah all prepared him as a whole nation’s Minister of Labour and Productivity, combining that with the Minister of Economic Planning and Finance Management of the whole land of Egypt.
It is enough blaming your father’s house which had persecuted you till you left home and found yourself where you eventually went to university, married, got a good job and began to excel.
Some people still carry the bitterness of the wrong done against them many years ago; but they would not look at the blessing the Lord had brought to them as a result of the bad circumstances they were made to pass through.
Many years ago, as a very serious and dedicated student, I was surprised I didnt have a very good WASC result that would have secured me an easy admission into University. I sat for GCE two or three times to combine my results at two sitting for a University admission. I was very studious and very serious young man. I sat for JAMB once or twice and was still not favoured till I settled for an admission in a College of Education. I still hoped to cross over to University by direct entry after the College of Education. But, Alas! It was at the College of Education I discovered my ministry and and from the College of Education I discovered my wife.
SO I HAD ALL THOSE FAILURES IN ORDER FOR ME TO FIT INTO GOD’S PLAN AND PURPOSE FOR MY LIFE.
SO I HAD ALL THOSE ENCOUNTERS IN OTHER THAT I MIGHT BE USED FOR THE BENEFITS OF SEVERAL DESTINIES.
All the bad experiences of Joseph was for the benefit of multitudes of lives of nations. WHEN GOD DEALS WITH YOU, HE HAS MULTITUDES OF LIVES AND DESTINIES IN MIND.
So it is very important for you to be remain calm in His presence and be faithful at every stage He brings you. For instance, if Joseph had compromised in Portiphar’s house, he would have truncated all the plans of God for the nations and multitudes and also destroyed the plans of God for the House of Jacob in the future.Because he would never have been in the prison and never would he have appeared in the palace.
THEREFORE, begin to look for the handwriting of God in the situations of your life. Begin to search for the plans and will of God in the events and happenings of your life. Begin to make sure you stand for God without compromising your faith and stand wherever the Lord has brought you, BECAUSE, YOUR LIVING IS DEFINITELY FOR THE LIVES OF THE MULTITUDES AND FOR THE DESTINIES OF THE MULTITUDES.
May I not disappoint the Reasons for my Living!
