Damilola Mike Bamiloye, Olukoju, Adejumobi, Others React to Owo Massacre

Killings in Nigeria has been going on recently in Nigeria for sometimes and there has been alot of agitations and condemnations over the killings. Herders have been accused in most cases for most of the killings. On sunday 4th of June 2022, some suspected herdsmen went to St. Catholic church, Owo in Ondo State, Nigeria and open fire on the worshipers which claimed about 50 lives according to media report.

Some Drama Ministers in the country have joined other well meaning Nigerians to condemn the killing, thereby penning down their reactions as a result of the happening, Gospel Film News can confirm.

Ben Ope Johnson who is a first class cinematographer said: “Owo on my mind. My condolences to the bereaved.”

Damilola Mike-Bamiloye, a writer, director and cinematographer wrote: “The video was gruesome the act was despicable. I Pray God comforts those directly affected. Affliction will not arise again in Jesus name.”

Seun Adejumobi who is an actor and producer noted that: “SAD Event in Owo Ondo State. Lord Show us your Mercy! What can we even say? Have your Way oh Lord!”

Victor Olukoju who is a movie director, actor and sexual Puritan stressed that: “How again shall we pray? Lord, have mercy on Nigeria. Nigeria bleeds. We bleed. But we know Jesus said: ‘I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:18.’ It is well.
It shall be well.”

Omolara Ayoola PMH, an actor and Sexual Purity Ambassador Wrote: “Been busy with an online. training since after church so I didn’t come to social media until this evening when I heard the brutality in Owo, Lord Jesus, we need healing in this nation. We need you to fight our battle. Fighting on our knees and doing the little we can without sinning is all you have instructed us to do Lord. Please have mercy on your people. I pray for comfort for the families of deceased.”

For his part, Joshua Mike-Bamiloye AKA Jaymikee who is a music producer, cinematographer, and film editor stated that: “We Pray for The families and friends of the deceased, for the church, for the state and for Nigeria. Take control oh Lord.”

Kunle Adepoju, a well respected cinematographer in his long epistle wrote:
“COWARD! COME OUT AND DEFEND YOUR EVIL
Coward ! Yes you… Coward. I am not a poet, yes i am not But your act has made me one
You have proven to be one. The brave I know are bold to defend their act
But you, yes you, Flee the scene of your act, without any trace of you. I remember the days of the Anenihs, the Shina Rambos and the Kayode Williams They were bold to announce their evil to their victims even before act. But you, yes you, never wanted to be seen. But act suddenly and disappear. The act of the cowards has brought blood shed. Blood stains, blood wet first on our flags. Now on our Bibles
It’s high time you declare your intension. It’s time you boldly tell why you kill innocent souls. The bold ones like Kayode Williams came out and received the loving arms of God in salvation. But the cowards will not be so. For God will not look at you to the very end
The book of chronicles will be open. Modecai will be Lifted. And you Haman will be consumed in your evil. My heart is heavy.”

Wale Kayode, a drama minister cum poet in a poem entitled ‘Bleeding Heart’ dedicated to victims at Owo massacre, writes that:

“I greet;
With tears
Because of me –
A favoured tree
Stolen to a desert
A valuable gift
Trashed in a bin
A model behind bars.

“My heart bleeds
Fountain of blood
As paint to my broken wall.

“My heart bleeds
Millions of scars
As design to my hindered star.

“My heart bleeds
Of hijackers
Who sat on me with drills.

“My heart bleeds
For my ocean of wealth
Lowered by suckers.

“I am your dwelling place
Yet, you lambast me
Blood from my heart cries
For better substance.”
