The screenwriter cum cinematographer, Damilola Mike Bamiloye has stated that creativity runs in this generation.

Damilola who is also a lecturer at Mount Zion Film Institute of Christian Drama made this statement over the weekend while addressing students in Ilorin.

Gospel Film News correspondent reports that the filmmaker who was speaking on the topic “CHRISTIAN DRAMA AND TREND” noted that the films produced years back is not as what we produce in 21st Century.

Speaking on a popular Mount Zion movie of 90s, he confessed that the way “Agbara Nla” was produced at that time, if it was produced the same way in this generation, it mighty not make wave as it make it then because the trend has changed. He used David case in 1st Samuel 17:34 as a case study, saying David was creative, when others were using sword, he decided to use stone, adding that creativity is what runs this generation because creativity is more extensive than money, if you have money and not creative with your message, it might not go far.

Damilola further said television has power and mobile phone also has power, but mobile phone is more powerful than television in this generation because it is possible for an individual to go about their daily activities without having time to watch a television, but not without a phone, buttressing that there is power in our hands, what are we doing with the power in our hands? which is our mobile phones.

“In David’s creativity he imbibe the word of God, and hit Goliath’s head, your creativity without the God’s word will not hit Goliath’s head. We should not wear saul’s weapon and do not accept promotion that is not ordained by God. Any promotion God is not giving you will lead to demotion in life and ministry and when you embark on the journey God is not sending you, there will be accident on the way. Do not be desperate,” he added.

Our correspondents report that Damilola spoke so much on consistency, that there should be consistency in whatever we are doing, adding that things are changing everyday and we learn from social media and that there is nothing we cannot learn from social media. He further spoke on the life of a drama minister, listing about five points a minister should always take care off:

* Knowing God for yourself. * Knowing Your vision because its vision that keeps you going in ministry. “Vision is the fuel that drives the ministry”.

* The word of God * Building an altar for God

* Do not go down in whatever happens. Samson as a case study

Damilola in a short interview with Gospel Film News after the programme said his coming to Ilorin was amazing, because he had a nice time being in Ilorin, he therefore appreciate Evang. Ayobami Adegboyega who made the trip more easier for him, he said coming to Ilorin was his first time on his own.

“I came to Ilorin about 5 or 6years ago with my parents and today will be second time of coming to Ilorin. My advice to the young ones is to be consistent and be creative in whatever they do. They should make God their priority,” he stated.

Damilola was also presented an award of excellence at the programme.
