….says nobody can cage God

By Oluwafemi Dosu

A gospel movie producer and president of Goodnews Drama Outreach Ministry, Evang. Oluwole Moses has kicked against government directives on age bracket allowed to worship in church when churches finally open.

Oluwole who frowned at the order says government said if you are under 15years and above 65years don’t go to church and Church service must not exceed 1 hour but he strongly believes this will not work because no one can cage God, adding that anyone who is trying to cage God will be caged forever.

In an exclusive Interview with Gospel Film News yesterday, the producer stressed that he believes God will fight for His church , He will not allow the will of man to prevail, and if government can allow market to open for hours, churches where people serve God should be allowed to serve God like before , corona virus cannot stop God, but God will stop corona virus.

He said they should allow the church to do their normal service and instruct them to obey the rule of using the preventive measures.

According to him he doesn’t think the the directive will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 because everybody is going to market both old and young.

He however admits that the issue of distancing during service is good as it is part of preventive measures he’s talking about and there’s nothing bad in that.

Recall that worship centers (church inclusive) have been locked down for some months now due to the outbreak of corona virus in the country.

A statement by the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu reads in part:

“There will now be restricted openings of religious houses based on compliance that we have seen and reviewed with the Safety Commission.

“From 14 days time, precisely on the 19th of June for our Muslim worshippers and from the 21st of June for our Christian worshippers, we will be allowing all of our religious bodies to open at a maximum of 40% of their capacity and we’ll be working with them as being expected by the Lagos State Safety Commission.”

Part of the conditions also include:

  • No hugging, handshakes, serving of food e.g. holy communion etc for any religious centre
  • Children below 15 years and above 65years old are not allowed to go to church or mosque.
  • Religious gatherings will only happen on Friday and Sunday.
