It was a moment of excitement at the ongoing Gospel Film Festival as Mike Bamiloye today, 1st of June, 2018 revealed how the famous gospel film, Abejoye was shot and distributed.
Mike Bamiloye is the writer and director of the film, Abejoye.
He stated that what happened with the movie ‘Abejoye’ was simply the grace of God, adding that they didn’t plan it will be like that.
Bamiloye who has produced and directed more than 100 titles noted that the most important thing is the burden in the heart.
“Few days to the trip, I had an urgency to write so I left home for about ten days because I will not come home until the script is done. I thought it was suppose to be a short film. There is multi dimension message in the film,” he disclosed.
The film writer stressed that there is an aspect of research in the script, saying he went online to study about sango, esu, obatala and the likes.
“Whatever will happen to a particular film must start from the script. One of the beauty of Abejoye is the choice of indigenous Yoruba language. Most time I want to write such an indigenous message, I take my time to watch Yoruba indigenous movie In addition to the Inspiration of the Holy spirit and the little Yoruba I know. You can’t put God away in this matter, because the suspense and the twisting of the film was God alone,” he revealed.
In his message, Mike Bamiloye said the special things about ‘Abejoye’ is Peculiarity and speciality with the Abnormal duration which broke the ginx of a normal movie.
He disclosed to participants at the film festival that after the premier of Abejoye they started praying to know what to do about the film and God instructed them on what to do.
Recall that Abejoye was premiered in 362 different places across the world including UK, Spain, Ukraine and south African. The movies toured about 10 (ten) countries.
Bamiloye however noted that there was minimal equipment during the movie shoot, saying 6D camera and a track against three soft box light were the equipments used and the major challenge faced during the premier was sending the link to different locations where the movie was to be premiered.
